Play a part in Ping! this summer
The street table tennis festival called Ping!, a joint partnership between Stratford Upon Avon Table Tennis Club Table Tennis England and Stratford upon Avon Town Councilwill see ping pong tables pop up in public places all over Stratford-upon-Avon.

Along with the Recreation Ground & Bell Court
Each table creates an opportunity for people to play for free. For some people this will be enough, but others may need some help or encouragement before stepping up to the paddle.
To help the public have an incredible experience and to bring Ping! To life the council are looking for the amazing support of volunteers.
Volunteers will be given training, a Ping! t-shirt, bats and balls and can play as big or as little part as they want to. This could be one hour a week to fit round other commitments or as much as every day.
Volunteers should at least one of the following:
willing to get stuck in and eager to learn,
enthusiastic about table tennis, sports and recreation or sports events,
Cllr Kevin Taylor , said: “Everyone should spend more time relaxing, playing and socialising outdoors and playing table tennis in the town centre this summer is great fun way to meet people. Some previous Ping! volunteers have continued their involvement in social table tennis long after the festival because they enjoyed the experience and made friends.”
There are no limitations on who may volunteer. Under 16s will need to volunteer with an adult There are the three main ways you could get involved; The Ping! All Rounder, Table Activators and Ping! Coaches.
The Ping! All Rounder:
Spend time at Ping! tables, talking to people
Checking on tables, bats and ball, overseeing events, helping out at and setting up for Ping! events
Taking photographs & videos at tables, counting participant numbers and distributing flyers
Table Activators:
Spend time at Ping! tables, talking to people, getting social games going and keeping the mood high
Setting up and running simple competitions and round-the-table games
Encouraging everyone to play, including less confident members of the public
Ping! Coaches:
Deliver coaching at School of Ping! and key Ping! events
Offer some friendly tips and advice to people playing on the Ping! tables
Sign-posting participants towards places to play more social table tennis nearby
